CONSULAR SERVICE - Passports and new passports

NEW BIOMETRIC PASSPORTS
of the Republic of Serbia

Requests for biometric passports are submitted in person at the Embassy with a mandatory pre-scheduled appointment.
Appointments are made by phone. An appointed term is required for each person (the same applies for minor children and for babies). It takes approximately 30 minutes per person to acquire biometric data.

For the scheduled appointment  it is necessary to come in person to the Embassy and bring with you for verification following documents:

1. original proof of citizenship of the Republic of Serbia (not older than one year);

2. original extract from the book of births – birth certificate -(not older than one year);

3. passport, if you have not owned a passport, you can bring for review your driver's license or ID card (from Serbia).

4. proof of the regulated stay in Canada.

If you have a biometric ID card, you need to bring it with you;

A child, regardless of age, gets its own passport and can not be entered in the passport of the parents. For minors under 18 years or age, in addition to the above documents, the presence of both parents is necessary or the written consent of a parent who is not present. Statement of compliance by the other parent is required when a parent is a foreign citizen; see the example LINK.

Signature/s of parent/s in the statement must be certified by a Notary Public.

Consular fee of 77.00 CAD can be paid in cash or by Money Order.

The legal deadline for resolving the request for a passport submitted abroad is two months (passports are made in the Republic of Serbia).

Passport must be received in person by coming to the Embassy. Be sure to bring with you a blue passport so that it can be cancelled.

The Emabassy is unable to accept requests for biometric passports for the following persons:

a) new born children abroad until the complete registration of birth is completed, that is to say not until they are entered in the book of birth records of the Republic of Serbia; till their residence is recorded and their personal identification number is determined
b) those who enter into marriage before the foreign authority and request the issuance of passport in order to change their surname, till the change of the surname is listed in the registry books in R. Serbia.

To such individuals and to persons who urgently require a passport for valid reasons, Embassy will issue a passport on the form of "FR Yugoslavia" (blue passport) or issue a travel document.

In case of loss of biometric passports, please call the Embassy immediately 613/233-6289.
