VISA ISSUANCE
Visa is not required for Canadian citizens traveling to Republic of Serbia . If you don’t have an Canadian passport, please check here to see if you require visa for travel to Republic of Serbia. http://www.mfa.rs/Visas/visas_e.htm Requirements for issuance of visa to citizens of countries which are subject to visa system: · Valid passport · Visa request form (PDF format) · Letter of invitation: a) for a private visit letter should be verified by the competent Serbia authority; b) letter from a company for a business visit; c) certificate from tourist agency that the travel arrangement has been paid for (voucher or other proof of payment) · Proof of residence in Canada · Return ticket · Proof of sufficient funds Certificate that a health fund shall cover the medical costs in Republic of Serbia, if any. ANNOTATION: - If you do not have a national passport and are traveling with an Canadian Travel Document, visa is then issued on the basis of consent from the Ministry of Interior (fees for obtaining the consent are $27.00 CAD).
- For issuance of transit visa it is necessary to be in possession of a visa of the country entering into after the transit through Republic of Serbia.
- If you are mailing in your visa request, the tax fees are payable via money order payable to the Embassy of Republic of Serbia in Ottawa. With request you need to forward a self-addressed return envelope with affixed appropriate postage UPON ARRIVAL IN REPUBLIC OF SERBIA ALL FOREIGN VISITORS ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER THEIR STAY. - Foreign visitor arriving in Republic of Serbia who is not using accommodation services of a hotel, motel or other tourist dwelling, is required to report his/her stay as well as the change or residence to the relevant authorities on the next day following the arrival in Republic of Serbia, that is to say within 24 hours of arrival or change of residence or address.
- If a foreigner during a visit to Republic of Serbia uses accommodation services for a fee (hotel, motel or similar), there is no need to register his/her stay in person; the organizations as well as individuals who provide accommodation services for a fee are obligated within 12 hours of the act of providing said services to the foreign visitor to report to the relevant authorities and register his/her stay. According to the place of stay of the foreign visitor this is reported to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
REGULATION OF STAY IN REPUBLIC OF SERBIA FOR FOREIGNERS In accordance with the regulations for travel and stay of foreigners in Republic of Serbia , consent for temporary stay can be issued for citizens of foreign countries providing that they meet conditions prescribed by Law for travel and stay of foreigners. 1. Foreigner arriving to Republic of Serbia with a foreign travel document can stay in Republic of Serbia temporarily up to three months during validity of his/her visa. If only transiting through territory of Republic of Serbia that stay is limited to seven days starting with the date of entry into the country.
Foreigner may at his/her request obtain consent for a temporary stay over 3 months, that is over 7 days (for those transiting). Request for approval of temporary stay can be submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in whose territory foreigner has registered temporary stay, stating the reasons for requesting temporary stay, proof of validity of those reasons and submission of appropriate documents stating that he/she is in possession of financial means of support, which is to say that his/her support is provided by other means during the stay in Republic of Serbia.
2. Foreigner arriving to Republic of Serbia in order to attend school, specialization, scientific research, employment or fulfillment of specific professional function it is required that he/she submits a request for temporary stay in Republic of Serbia within three days of entering the country. With the request he/she is required to present the following: a. registered place of residence; b. proof of attendance from the university, school or institution; c. proof of financial means for his/her support and education (proof from the sponsor providing the scholarship or statement from the bank). 3. If the foreigner is coming to work for a company or a government body, that company or government body is required to submit a request for consent of temporary stay for that foreigner within seven days of his/her arrival in Republic of Serbia.
When we refer to the consent for temporary stay based on employment of a foreigner, beside the mandatory documentation it is necessary to submit for inspection the decree from the Trade Court about the company’s registration, annual balance sheets, contract of employment with the company and the ruling of the relevant government agency that the foreign resident may enter into the labor relations.
Above mentioned ruling is not required if the work contract entered into is based on the performance of expert task stipulated in the contract about the professional-technical cooperation, the long-tern manufacturing cooperation, transfer of technology and foreign investment.
4. If the foreigner requests a temporary stay based on establishing a business firm, beside the mandatory documents he/she is required to submit a decree about the establishment of the same business issued by the Trade Court as well as the document of formation of the business.
5. Temporary stay is granted for the duration of up to one year; re-entry visa is issued for the same period of time (including the business visa). |
